I would like to think we all do it for the kids but I am inclined to believe that the adult in Lake of the Woods enjoy Halloween and Trick or Treat every bit as much if not more than the kids. For those of you who are new to
For those of you who are new to LOW and like the scariest night of the year, you owe it to yourself to drive around the roads of our community and enjoy all the Halloween decorations so hauntingly displayed in so many yards this time of year. Yes, the gigantic spider webs, mammoth dragons, colossal spiders, and every other kind of creature that nightmares are made of can be found in abundance in the doorways, porches and grassy areas of Lake of the Woods. But please go before Halloween night as that night the streets, the Clubhouse Point and the LOW Church parking lot will be filled with costumed candy seekers of all ages.
Trick or Treat from door to door at LOW is set for Tues. October 31 from 5 PM to 8 PM. If you will not be home or you do not wish to participate please turn off your outside lights so the children know not to stop at your house.
Treats at Clubhouse Point will be occurring again this year. It will also be Oct. 31 st from 6 PM to 7 PM. If you are interested in giving out candy at the point or have questions please call 972-9680.
The Lake of the Woods Church will be having their Trunk Or Treat in the church parking on Oct. 31st. Please call the church for more information.
If your child has food allergies or you would prefer to give out or have your child receive non-food/candy surprises you can check out the Teal Pumpkin Project that allows children to participate in Trick or Treat that might not have been able to otherwise. If you are giving out non- food goodies like toys, stickers, pencils, crayons etc. please display a TEAL Pumpkin (available in most stores or paint your own) and if you are looking for those great options to candy for your kids – look for the bright teal pumpkins to let you know where to stop.
Both the Treats at the Point and Trunk or Treat at the LOW Church are great options for smaller children who can’t walk long distances and are safer for the littlest trick or treaters than going door to door to Trick or Treat and walk on the side streets of LOW but then – there is nothing quite like rustling through the dry autumn leaves from house to house wearing your most awesome costume and being given candy!
