Sounds like a day in paradise, doesn’t it? While most of us think every day here at LOW is a day in paradise, this hour was particularly special. In this hour, Ramsey Beach was transformed into the most beautiful Yoga studio. The kind you dream about while looking at brochures of exotic vacations spots that boast ” Yoga on the Beach”. The water appeared a deep sparkling blue under the warm April sun. The sand on the beach glistened and twinkled as if it were scattered with diamond dust. Soothing, eclectic music drifted through the air as the 10 yoga students went through their poses Thursday morning, being led by their instructor, Victoria Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, who has been a massage therapist for 8 years is also a certified Yoga instructor and has been teaching her “gentle” form of Yoga, which is both meditative and energizing, for 7 yrs. She also loves holding Chair Yoga classes, which are particularly beneficial seniors and hopes to plan more of those in the near future as well as prenatal yoga classes.
At the end of the lesson, the class slowly came out of a meditation to observe another student had joined us. One of the magnificent LOW Swans, no doubt drawn to the beach by our collective positive energy, had come to join us!
Do you feel like you have missed out on a special experience? Well, you don’t have to- Rodriguez will be holding more classes on Ramsey Beach including some sunset classes. So if the idea of stretching out on a beautiful beach appeals to you, you might want to sign up for an upcoming class. And as for the sunset class, I am not sure what her policy is on wine but she wouldn’t have to know what was in your water bottle.
