Here at “On Lake Time”, we know how much you love to be in the parking lot affectionately known as I-95. We know because we love it too!!! That is why we wanted to share this bit of info with you that might affect two of your upcoming weekends if you are using I-95 north of Fredericksburg.
According to WTOP the I-95 bridge over the Neabsco Creek just south of Potomac Mills is crumbling and is in need of repairs. Work on this bridge will force 4 lanes of traffic down to two lanes and both northbound and southbound traffic in this area will be affected. From the way this one sounds – the current traffic issues could go from ugly to uglier so you may want to select an alternate route around this construction. Work will only be on the weekends and will begin at 9 pm Saturday, April 29, until 6 am Monday, May 1. Work will start again 9 pm Friday, May 5 until 6 am Monday, May 8th.
Although VDOT has not yet made the formal announcement of the bridge work and lane reduction, they have confirmed and promised an update closer to the date of this road work. On Lake Time will endeavor to keep you updated.
